I had a fun time at Panera Bread today. After enjoying a warm bowl of soup, I made a few collage cards. Two I left at Panera as Found Art. One was left on the window sill. The other on the bulletin board in the back. I assume it will be an employee who will spot the postcard on the bulletin board knowing it's not supposed to be there. I've been making pieces of art from scrap wood pieces. I use acrylic and dimensional paint and sometimes a Sharpie or two. Here are three pieces of art I will be leaving somewhere between Stoughton and Boston in the next week or so. If you happen to find my art, I hope you enjoy it.

I painted more rocks today. I hope to leave them in and around Boston and Cambridge during this week. Because I put a sealant on them, they are a little shiny so it was hard to get a good picture. Here are a few of them, some with close ups.

I had a business trip in Boston this week. I have an envelop of art in my purse and was reminded to leave art every time I was in my purse. And, boy, did I leave a trail! I left art in cabs, pockets in the airplane seats, tucked in the metal frame around the buttons on an elevator, in a phone book in the hotel room, on bulletin boards, on tables in restaurants, and even outside people's rooms

I received this story in e-mail yesterday. It reminded me of the clay balls I had made but still hadn't put out for someone to find. When I've made these balls, I've experimented with putting things into them. I tried making a small dove from clay to put inside but it crumbled in the second firing. I finally left another piece of my pottery work. I left the piece below that looks like a large acorn or mushroom. I left it in a waiting room in a building on Schuetz Rd. where I had dropped off and waited for a friend of mine. I put a card about Found Art underneath the piece. I hope someone picks it up to look at it and realizes that it is not a decoration and is meant to be taken home.

Using an idea of a friend of mine, I've made a few clay balls in my pottery class. Well, one is more rock shape than ball shape, on purpose. I put rocks in the balls to make it rattle, but my rocks fell out. (Is this akin to losing your marbles??) Anyway, I plan on leaving these two in local parks where they may not be found until next spring...unless someone enjoys fall hikes as much as I do.

I was out of town on business this past week. I left one piece of art in the pocket of the seat in front of me on the airplane. I assume one of the Flight Attendants found it when cleaning up the flight for the next one. I also left a piece of art in one of the drawers in my hotel room. I had to get temporary plates for my car as it transitions from leased to owned, so I was in the DMV on Lindberg this past week. I left 4 pieces of art there -- 2 on the counter someone who is very bored and very perceptive may find, and 2 on a table with pamplets. I hope no one throws them away! They are pretty small and may go unnoticed. We'll see.
